This week, more than 200 people came through the doors at Wildwood Recovery Center. Some came out of sheer curiosity. Some work in the field. And some came simply to support the people who have worked so hard to make this project happen.

The amount of support we received and the people who showed up for us was nothing short of incredible.

The thing about this project is this: it was never a typical economic development project.

For those driving by every day, it may have looked finished a while ago. But the truth is, there has been an incredible amount of work happening behind those doors to prepare Wildwood to welcome its first client on September 28.

Let this project be a reminder that there is often far more work happening behind the scenes than what you can see from the road.

We are incredibly thankful for the Momentum Management Solutions and Wildwood teams who have taken this from a building to a treatment center—a place that will soon begin changing lives.

And to those of you who showed up this week, whether for the Open House, the Ribbon Cutting, or simply to show your support, we saw you. And we appreciate you more than you know. ❤️

It's already been a busy week in our office and the best is yet to come! 🎉🎉

Monday-A lot of office activity, rearranging, prepping and planning, tourism content editing, and IDA meeting.

Tuesday- Outdoor Rec Project Management team call with Friends of Southwest Virginia and the SE Group, LPRIFA board meeting, MECC advisory Board meeting, kick off to our recently established Resilience Committee, more phone calls, more editing, prepping, and planning.

Wednesday-Prep work at Wildwood Recovery Center for OPEN HOUSE!!! Lunch meeting with one of our RAFT teams followed by a meeting with VT and local extension office Brad Mullins about that needs of the Ag center and Ag community, and more prepping!

Today- Dana speaks at a Recovery conference in Marion, Wildwood prep, kick off to our newly established Energy Committee, and OPEN HOUSE.

Friday- more Wildwood celebration, clean-up, re-set, and prep do do it all over again next week.

This is just an overview-- there are many things in between that are difficult to measure and account for. There is also nothing routine about the work we do, but I don't think we would have it any other way.

This week is why we keep doing. ♥️
