Cohoes Mayor Bill Keeler has released his proposed 2027 City budget. The $30.9 million budget proposal includes:

• No property tax increase for the seventh consecutive year
• Sewer rate remains unchanged at $3.80 per 1,000 gallons
• Water rate increases by $0.10 per 1,000 gallons to $3.80 per 1,000 gallons
• $30.9 million total budget, representing a 2.65% decrease in spending from the adjusted 2026 budget
• 3% raise for non-union employees
• Full staffing across all city departments

“With every department fully staffed, we have the personnel and resources in place to provide the highest level of service and keep our community safe. With the high cost of living that everyone is facing, Cohoes taxpayers should feel confident that, for the seventh year in a row, we’ve balanced the city budget without raising property taxes. We prioritize ways to reduce spending and live within our means. Despite some headwinds, revenues remain strong.” – Mayor Bill Keeler
