Lessons learned from the Next Era Styling event in NYC:
1- Show up. There is a LOT of stuff happening in October business and life-wise, and figuring out how to attend a conference isn’t always easy. But all the growth that happens at the experience makes it worth it.
2- Be vulnerable. I volunteered to be in the “hot seat” and get a website audit and have my website on the big screen in front of dozens of other fellow stylists. I was shaking I was so nervous. (Thank you again MAKE BELIEVE IN YOU !)
3- Connect. It was so great to meet so many other stylists and industry professionals from all over the country. Great people!
4- Always be learning. I think the most important part of owning a business is to keep learning. I learned so much at the event that I am so excited to share with my clients. If you aren’t growing, you’re stagnant.
5- Know yourself. There were a few items on the agenda that I didn’t stick around for- and I’m okay with that. I know myself well enough to know when my socializing limit has peaked and I don’t have the energy to keep going. Knowing yourself and your energy levels keeps you from crashing post event.
A huge thank you to Nicole Otchy - Business Consulting for Personal Stylists and Nove for putting on an AMAZING event. I can’t wait til the next one!!
