This week, I visited Phil Long Ford, one of our local dealerships here in who supports and employs many of our local veterans.

I met many of their employees on the showroom floor and learned a great deal about their backgrounds and experience.

We discussed the benefits of the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, which includes a federal tax deduction for auto loan interest on new American-made vehicles and the need for more skilled auto workers.

This morning, I spoke at the Veteran Stand Down, a welcoming place where homeless and at-risk veterans can connect with caring community members, access essential services, and take meaningful steps toward stable housing and improved well-being.

Our casework team was one of the many groups there as a resource for our veterans needing help with a federal agency.

El Paso County is home to one of the largest veteran populations in the nation, and it was inspiring to see so many in our community come out to help.

For the past few weeks, 2,000 kindergartners came through Colorado Youth Outdoors, picking a pumpkin to take home while making lifelong memories and friends.

Golf has a billion-dollar economic impact across our state.

I recently visited Patty Jewett Golf Course, one of the oldest continuously operating public golf courses west of the Mississippi, to see how course superintendents serve as environmental stewards right here in Colorado.

We talked through water conservation, new irrigation systems, and new soil moisture sensor technology. They also discussed their First Green program, which turns the course into a hands-on STEAM classroom for our students.
