Good afternoon, a couple of times have changed for graduation and turning blue. The turning blue ceremony will begin at 0900 on 28 January, 2026 at kannel field. Graduation is being moved to an indoor ceremony at the National Infantry Museum at 0800 on 29 January, 2026.

Pass information

Trainees will be released immediately following the Turning blue ceremony on a pass. Please exit the parking lot quickly as we are not the only Company doing a ceremony that day. They will need to return no later than 1900 on 28 January, 2026 to Alpha Company 2-29.

After graduation trainees will be released to their families. If they are Direct Ship they will be placed on buses to their next duty station. If their follow on assignment is Airborne, RASP, or 18x they will be placed on a pass and will need to return no later than 1900 on Monday 2 February, 2026 to Alpha company 2-29. If they’re RTLI they will be handed off to the RTLI cadre.

Dearest Family and Loved Ones,
The Soldiers of the Ares Company have been working incredibly hard throughout Initial Entry Training, and we're so proud of their dedication and progress.

We are excited to announce authorized leave for the holidays, allowing our Soldiers some precious time home with loved ones.

All eligible Soldiers may take leave starting December 19, 2025, through January 4, 2026; specific dates depend on their mode of travel. As families begin making travel plans, please carefully note the following dates and guidelines:

Departure Information:
Personally Owned Vehicle: Soldiers will begin departing the post via Personally Owned Vehicle starting at 4:00AM December 18th, 2025. To gain access to the installation requires a picture ID for each person over the age of 18, proof of insurance, a copy of the vehicle registration and a federal background clearance check. Please note only U.S. citizens may complete the online access request. All Others are required to request access in person at the Fort Benning Visitor Center located at 6065 Lindsay Creek Parkway. https://home.army.mil/benning/About/gates-visitors

Air Travel: For those flying, please be aware, parents are welcome to purchase airline tickets for their Soldiers. However, Soldiers must depart from the Atlanta Airport and are not permitted to leave prior to 6:00 AM December 19th, 2025.
Transportation to and from the airport will be arranged by your Soldiers at their Unit.
We highly recommend purchasing refundable or transferable tickets for your Soldier in case their eligibility for leave changes.

Return Information:

All soldiers returning from holiday block leave will be dropped off at Pomeroy Field.

Personally Owned Vehicles: Soldiers returning to Fort Benning via personally owned vehicles may begin reporting no earlier than 8:00 AM January 4, 2026, but no later than 6:00 PM EST on January 04, 2026.

Air Travel: Soldiers returning by air to Atlanta Airport must arrive no earlier than 6:00 AM EST and no later than 6:00 PM EST on January 04, 2026. This deadline is crucial to ensure a seamless resumption of training.

Please continue to track the progress of your Soldier to ensure all requirements to go on leave has been met. Soldiers will receive additional instructions before they depart covering emergency situations such as weather delays and medical treatment.

Your Soldier is strongly encouraged to exercise daily, refrain from the use of to***co products and consuming alcohol. Being a Soldier is not without stress, especially as we remain committed to the safety of our Nation. Your encouragement means the world to these Soldiers as they continue their journey.

Good afternoon Ares friends and family. The Turning Blue ceremony for class 25-026 will be this Wednesday 23 July at 0900 at kanell field. Trainees will be released following the ceremony on pass and will have to return no later than 1900.

Trainees will not be allowed to go outside of the local Columbus area.

Trainees are not allowed to drink alcohol, use to***co products, or wear anything aside from their AGSU uniform

Please enjoy your time with your soldier do not put them in an awkward position by buying them contraband or having them come back with anything they're not authorized to.

There has been a change to the timeline for the Turning Green Pass. Your soldiers no longer have to return on Sunday. They will need to be returned by 1800 on Monday. Sorry for any inconveniences this shift may cause

Good morning Ares friends and family. The Turning Green ceremony for class 25-026 will be this Friday 25 April at 0900 at kanell field. Trainees will be released following the ceremony on pass and will have to return no earlier than 1500 and no later than 1800 on Sunday.

Families are required to get a visitor pass. Visitor passes can be acquired at the Lindsey Creek Visitor Center.

Trainees will not be allowed to go 50 miles beyond the Fort Benning area.

Trainees are not allowed to drink alcohol, use to***co products, or wear anything aside from their OCP uniform and beret.

Please enjoy your time with your soldier do not put them in an awkward position by buying them contraband or having them come back with anything they're not authorized to.

Good afternoon! If you have a soldiers returning from block leave, you can begin dropping them off at 0700 on January 3rd 2025 at the 2-29 Battalion Area. For soldiers returning, whether by plane or being dropped off, they need to be in uniform. Reminder soldiers are not allowed to have any contraband when they return. If any issues arise such as car issues or inclement weather please call 706-544-8334 ASAP so we are aware of the situation.
