🇺🇸 “Part-time service means living a dual identity of being a Soldier and a civilian. They both complement each other if one chooses to let it. The lessons and of one’s MOS/branch can be applied in any civilian industry if it is applied the right way.”
“Part-time service also means that a Soldier can have a civilian life which can flourish outside of the military, and they can use their military experience to grow in their civilian lives as well as their personal lives.” -LT Jay Gaddam

“It allowed me to complete my college education and maintain employment, all while fulfilling my commitment to the National Guard. This balance empowers Guardsmen to grow professionally and personally while making a local impact.”
“The National Guard is unique for offering part-time service and the opportunity to serve in your own community. The flexibility to live where you choose, maintain your lifestyle, and still make a meaningful impact locally is what makes military service in the Guard great.” -2LT Samuel Jones, 1-174th Air Defense Artillery

"I needed something that challenged me to push harder every day"
" I eventually found myself in a Ohio Army National Guard recruiting office and spoke with my Recruiter about the Simultaneous Membership Program. After the first meeting I was sold on the whole thing."
"The SMP program allows you to pursue a bachelor's degree while you serve as an enlisted Soldier in the National Guard and a Cadet in your schools ROTC program. At the end of your ROTC career, you commission as a 2LT in the Army."
"As a Cadet within the National Guard, my monthly drill gives me a perspective of both the officer and enlisted side. My usual drill schedule includes both field work and learning under squad leaders and team leaders as well as working with officers and seeing what their job consists of. It has allowed me to be ahead of my peers (-) It also presents more opportunities as you are able to go to schools through your ROTC program and your unit as a Cadet."
"I wouldn’t change any decision that I’ve made regarding enlisting, as it was probably the best decision of my life." -CDT Dante Rooke

“The ROTC program at Bowling Green University is the best of both worlds. You get to pursue the education you want while working towards becoming an Army officer. Also, the opportunities to attend schools like air assault and airborne are very cool.” -CDT Lane Mefford
ROTC programs like the one held at Bowling Green State University prepare students to become Officers. Cadets who complete an Army ROTC program get more than their college education paid for; they learn valuable leadership skills and begin a journey of lifelong success.
