Belmont Correctional Institution proudly presented an $8,500 check to Harmony House, a home in the Ohio Valley that supports children affected by abuse. These funds were raised during the recent Ohio Warden and Superintendent's Conference. Our staff are proud to support organizations that make a meaningful impact in our communities.

Over the last few weeks, DRC’s photographer has been working behind the scenes to develop and digitize some never-before-shared photos of the Ohio Penitentiary. We’re excited to share some of these with you today!

Members of SRT from Richland Correctional Institution recently headed to Moundsville, West Virginia, for the popular annual Mock Prison Riot. Held inside the historic, now-decommissioned West Virginia Penitentiary, this top-rated training gives teams a chance to practice in lifelike situations. The RiCI team joined the event after earning top honors at DRC’s 2025 Step Up competition.

Mentorship is key to a successful career in corrections. At a recent mentor/mentee gathering, staff worked with their mentors on professional development and community building. We’re appreciative of our staff across the state who support new employees, helping them remain fair, firm, and consistent in all they do.

Starting this week, we will begin sharing information on individuals with active Adult Parole Authority warrants. Our parole officers work hard to locate those who have absconded, but we also know someone in the community has information that can help. Our community partnerships play an important role in keeping Ohio safe.

Today, we're highlighting four individuals. Stay tuned as we share more throughout the month.

If you have information on the whereabouts of anyone featured, please contact local law enforcement or the Adult Parole Authority using the contact information listed on each photo. **Do not approach.** Tips may be submitted anonymously.

Memorial Day is an opportunity for us to pay tribute to the sacrifices made by those who served our country. We also want to acknowledge the many veteran staff members at DRC. Your service, both past and present, is deeply appreciated.

Late last week, Adult Parole Authority (APA) officers in the Dayton region served warrants for supervisees who had violated the conditions of their parole.
Our APA officers took 6 individuals into custody, with at least 3 new felony charges that will be filed by our law enforcement partners. We're appreciative of our parole officers who hold people accountable and keep communities safe.

Yesterday, the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility (SOCF) held its 33rd annual SOCF memorial. The event honors the lives of the SOCF employees who made the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of their duties. This ceremony began after the 1993 Lucasville Riot and has continued since. It is a time-honored tradition that is well attended by DRC staff, retirees, and families.

Thank you to SOCF for continuing to host this important memorial.
