The Columbus Community was out in full force last night in solidarity with Baltimore, while calling on the Columbus PD - who in 2011 was found to be #2 in the nation in police shootings per capita - to enact reforms we have been demanding for months. The events in IL, NY, OH, SC, and all over have reignited the desire for civilian review of abuses of power. A group of OSU/Columbus community members are circulating petitions for a modern Columbus Civilian Review Board model. We can also help get you registered to vote. Ohio rejects AEP request to put risk onto customers American Electric Power plans to work with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio to determine what is needed to charge customers a rider in an effort to stabilize consumer prices as well as power plant jobs. The commission on Wednesday declined a purchase power agreement plan for AEP-controlled Ohio Valley Electric Corporation, which has a coal operation in Gallia County.
