The Ohio Department of Higher Education (formerly known as the Ohio Board of Regents) is a Cabinet-level agency for the Governor of the State of Ohio that oversees higher education for the state. The agency’s main responsibilities include authorizing and approving new degree programs, managing state-funded financial aid programs and developing and advocating policies to maximize higher education’s contributions to the state and its citizens.

Chancellor Duffey and members of the ODHE staff spent part of Monday touring the Miami University and Butler Tech Advanced Manufacturing Workforce and Innovation Hub in Hamilton. The facility, which is the result of a cutting-edge partnership between the institutions, is designed to fuel economic growth in the region while giving students access to various education pathways that will lead to careers in the manufacturing sector. Students led guests on a tour of classrooms and labs before Chancellor Duffey concluded the visit with members of the Miami and Butler Tech leadership teams, including Miami President Greg Crawford and Butler Tech Superintendent William Sprankles.
