I am looking forward to this year's MAVS participants graduating today. This will be one of the biggest classes as well. I am proud of these graduates and all of the hard work they put in to finish this program. This program lasts 2 years and it involves a lot of time and commitment to complete. Well earned!!!

Please be aware of a new scam attempting to get people to pay court fines quickly. The notices are sent via text and are fake.
Attached is an image of the scam, but we are learning that different images may be used at times. Some allege the violation is a parking violation. Others claim it is for unpaid tolls. Some have a fake seal where “The Great Seal of the State of Ohio” is misspelled. The Franklin County Municipal Court and Clerk does not send violation notices via text.
Please do not share any personal information in response to the text.

The Municipal Court will be closed tomorrow, January 27th, due to inclement weather. However, the Court WILL hold the in-custody arraignment session tomorrow with a start time of 10 AM. Staff who support the in-custody docket should report.

Congratulations to Judge James Green on his retirement of 31 years of service at Franklin County Municipal Court. You have served as one of my mentors, colleagues and closest friends inside and outside of Municipal Court. The courthouse will not be the same without your presence. You served the citizens for Franklin County with grace and humility for the last 31 years. Congratulations!!

It was an honor to attend the annual Veterans Day breakfast hosted by the City of New Albany. Dr. Tyshawn Jenkins of the Wounded Warrior Project spoke about his mental health battles before and after his service in the military.
