Communist Party USA says no ties to firebombing of Tesla



NEW YORK - The Communist Party USA has no ties whatsoever to the individual accused of the destruction of property and arson in Nevada nor to any acts of violence.



“It’s militant non-violent protest that has time and again proven to be the most effective response to attacks on democratic rights. That’s what defeated segregation during the 1960s and it's what will defeat neo-confederate Republicans today,” remarked Joe Sims, CPUSA Co-Chairman.



The Communist Party USA is greatly encouraged by the thousands of peaceful protests that have taken place across the country against Donald Trump, Elon Musk and the DOGE cutbacks and attacks on federal workers and immigrants



As seen in town halls in several states, working-class folks are furious at the MAGA offensive against hard-won social gains and union rights, and well they should be. This includes the boycotts and picket lines at Tesla and the February 28 Target boycott.



“Attempts by the Las Vegas Police Department to link our party to the advocacy of violence and the repetition of this slander in the mass media smacks of McCarthyism, charged Sims. “Given the Red Scare and our 100-year history of peaceful and militant struggle for democracy, the American people know better” he continued.
