Our crews recently conducted low-angle rope rescue training in one of our wooded ravine areas. Training like this helps ensure our personnel remain proficient and prepared for all types of rescue operations, no matter the environment or conditions.

Arson can unintentionally begin at an early age. Teach children that fire is dangerous—a small flame can quickly grow out of control. Fire is a tool, not a toy, and should only be used by adults.

Support firesetting prevention by forming partnerships between local fire departments and private sector organizations. Together, we can keep our communities safe.

We recently had a garage fire in the Summerfield development. Fires can happen at any time, and even small precautions can make a big difference. Please take a moment to check smoke detectors, avoid overloading outlets, store flammable materials safely, and never leave cooking or heaters unattended.

Stay alert, have an emergency plan, and look out for your neighbors. Be fire safe.

Each year, the third week of May is recognized as EMS Week — a time to honor the dedication, compassion, and professionalism of Emergency Medical Services providers across the country.

EMS is a vital part of what the Violet Fire and EMS Department does every single day. In 2025 alone, 8,201 of our 9,460 calls for service were EMS-related incidents, highlighting the critical role our personnel play in protecting the health and safety of our community.

At Violet Fire and EMS, every employee is required to hold a State of Ohio Paramedic certification in addition to their Fire Training, demonstrating the high level of training and commitment our team brings to every call.
