I had the opportunity today in House Finance Committee to revisit one of my earliest legislative initiatives, "Open Ohio," which became checkbook.ohio.gov. Now, Reps. Young and Peterson have introduced H.B. 413, legislation to require local governments and state retirement systems to participate in the Ohio State Government Expenditure Database.

Government transparency and accountability has been a key pillar of my policy agenda for decades, dating back to work as a professional staff member on the U.S. Senate Oversight of Government Management Subcommittee with Sen. George Voinovich.

Secretary Kennedy's work at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to reset federal nutrition guidelines, tackle the causes of chronic disease, and align U.S. drug prices with lower international costs constitutes noteworthy and long overdue progress to Make America Healthy Again.
