Today, Columbus came together for the 4th annual Africa Day celebration at City Hall.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the cultures, communities and contributions of the African diaspora through music, performances, remarks and community connection. We’re grateful to our partners, performers and attendees for making this year’s event so special.

Less than one week until Columbus kicks off Pride Month with the annual Shellabarger Illuminator Award Ceremony and City Hall Illumination. This year’s award will honor Jose Rodriguez for his decades of leadership, public service and advocacy supporting Central Ohio’s LGBTQ+ community.

Summer jobs, internships, career readiness programs and paid opportunities are available for youth and young adults across Columbus. Whether you’re looking for your first job, exploring career paths or building new skills, there are opportunities this summer for a variety of ages and interests.

Last night, Council approved more than $13 million in funding for the Community Shelter Board to support homelessness prevention, emergency shelter operations, rapid rehousing and housing stability efforts across Columbus, more than doubling the original proposal as the need for services continues to rise throughout the community.
