About Startup Weekend:

Startup Weekends are 54-hour weekend events, during which groups of developers, business managers, startup enthusiasts, marketing gurus, makers, graphic artists and more pitch ideas for new startup companies, form teams around those ideas, and work to develop a working prototype, demo, or presentation to pitch Sunday evening. Pitching an idea is optional, many people attend to find a good idea and to help bring it to life.

These are very community focused and provide a place for budding entrepreneurs to find co-founders, mentors, and momentum for their ideas.
