🎓 My Son. My Pride. My Legacy. 🎓

Today, my son JaVeon Kuykindall graduates from Bartlett High School… and I’m trying to put into words what this moment really feels like.

I’ve watched you grow from a young boy into a young man right in front of my eyes. I’ve seen the ups, the setbacks, the lessons, the moments where you had to figure things out, and I’ve seen you keep going anyway. That’s what makes today hit different. It’s not just about the diploma… It’s about the growth, the maturity, and the strength you’ve built along the way.

There were times you were tested. Times you had to adjust. Times you had to dig deep. And every time, you found a way forward. That’s what makes me proud, not just what you accomplished, but who you’ve become.

Now you’re stepping into your next chapter with purpose.

You plan to join the Tennessee Army National Guard, taking on a path of discipline, service, and responsibility. At the same time, you’re committing to college, pursuing a degree in Marketing, and continuing to build your future.

That decision tells me everything I need to know about you. You’re not looking for the easy road—you’re choosing the one that builds you.

Join me in welcoming PVT Corry Johnson to the Tennessee Army National Guard!

PVT Johnson is a proud graduated of Mulberry County Career High School by way of Memphis Central High and has enlisted as a 09M – Future Soldier Prep Candidate. This program gives him the opportunity to improve his ASVAB score and prepare for success before shipping to BCT (Basic Combat Training) and AIT (Advanced Individual Training).

His older brother, SPC Javion Dabney, who I enlisted in 2024, set the standard and led the way—now PVT Johnson is stepping up to continue the legacy.

After training, PVT Johnson will have the opportunity to attend the college or trade school of his choice with the TN STRONG Act, covering 100% of tuition and fees across Tennessee.

Christopher previously served in the TN Army National Guard as a 12K (Plumber), earning the rank of Sergeant (SGT) through hard work, discipline, and leadership. After reenlisting in December 2024, he set his sights even higher—taking the officer route.

He recently graduated from Officer Candidate School (OCS) and officially commissioned as a Second Lieutenant (2LT) in the Signal Corps (Customer Communication/Communications field) 📡
