Lake California Firewise - Don't Let It Burn

10/28/2026

No rest for the weary! We had a great time at our Lake California market on Sunday, October 25! We hope to see you on Sunday, November 15!!

From dawn until dusk- over a 12 hour day for some of us and for the Grind Fire Defense crew, even longer!! We ended the day at 645pm when the Grind Trucks left our last house on the list. They still had to go drop off all the equipment at the shop and then head home! What a successful day for our community with the work of Grind Fire Defense! They are always so helpful in making our Defensible Space Clean-up Days a success! We look forward to working with you in the future! We always appreciate Grind Fire Defense!!!
Although we didn't get to ALLLL the houses on our list, we still helped out over 15 houses today!

10/25/2026

Today was awesome! We had over 20 volunteers that physically helped and over 10 others that donated cash, drinks, snacks and other items for our Defensible Space Clean-up day today!
Lake California Volunteer Firewise team is so thankful for our community members here. Without the support of our community this wouldn’t be possible! If you are interested in helping out on our next Defensible Space Clean-up Day reach out to us!

During periods of high fire risk, a few simple actions can help protect your home from flying embers, which can travel a mile or more ahead of a wildfire.

🏠 Clear leaves, needles, and debris from roofs and gutters.
🔥 Move flammable items at least 5 feet from your home.
🚪 Close garage doors and pet doors.
🪟 Close windows.

When fire weather arrives, do an ember check and prepare your home to resist ember intrusion.
