The Crawfordsville District is responsible for maintaining 5,003 lane miles of state roads, 850 lane miles of interstate, 1,556 large culverts, 899 state bridges, 159 snow routes, 378 traffic signals, 89 flashers, 48,283 road signs, and 969 panel signs. There are five sub-districts (Cloverdale, Crawfordsville, Fowler, Frankfort and Terre Haute) and 13 counties (Benton, Boone, Clay, Clinton, Fountain, Hendricks, Montgomery, Parke, Putnam, Tippecanoe, Vermillion, Vigo and Warren) within the Crawfordsville District.

During this election season, we'd like to remind everyone that campaign signs or any additional signage is not permitted in state right-of-way in accordance with Indiana Code 9-21-4-6.

Signs that have been removed will be taken to the nearest INDOT facility and may be claimed during regular business hours.

Let's take a walk, shall we? 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

This video was taken from a couple of weeks ago through the I-70 pedestrial tunnel near the 7.4-mile marker in Vigo County. INDOT has partnered with the City of Terre Haute on this project for its trail system. 🤝

Once we get through the tunnel, we take flight to show crews paving the eastbound lanes, preparing for an upcoming traffic pattern shift. 🛩️🦺

Westbound traffic is currently being diverted to the median, with the existing bridge having been removed. We have filled in the area and are ready to add asphalt this week, depending on what Mother Nature throws our way. 🌦️🤞

The entire project is estimated to be finished by the end of next month. Once INDOT completes the tunnel, the city of Terre Haute will add lighting inside. 💡🔦

INDOT maintenance crews are hard at work spot paving on I-70! 🦺⚠

These pictures were taken in Clay/Putnam Counties from our TrafficWise cameras, earlier this morning. 📸

Lane closures will be in effect today and tomorrow between State Road 59 and S.R. 243, and between S.R. 39 and Little Point.

Be sure to check 511/TrafficWise if you're traveling through these areas and expect delays.

As always, we encourage drivers to use extra caution while workers are present!
