District 2 will be hosting a town hall to discuss City Hall on June 9th at 5:30 to 6:30 P.M. at Arlington Park Recreation Center.

Last night D2 was part of the Deep Ellum Public Safety meeting to talk about different initiatives that are being put in place for FIFA. We also talked about street closures that are in place in Deep Ellum. It was good to hear from the businesses in the district and get feedback we can take back to the departments.

Anoche D2 formó parte de la reunión de Seguridad Pública de Deep Ellum para hablar sobre las diferentes iniciativas que se están poniendo en marcha para la FIFA. También hablamos sobre los cierres de calles que existen en Deep Ellum. Fue bueno escuchar a los negocios del distrito y recibir comentarios que podamos llevar a los departamentos.

Mayor Pro Tem Moreno had the pleasure of celebrating the Taiwanese American Heritage Week during the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month at Dallas City Hall. This year is especially remarkable as we celebrated twenty years of friendship between City of Dallas and our sister City Taipei in Taiwan! As Dallas continues to grow as a global city and prepares to welcome visitors for 2026 FIFA World Cup, our partnerships with cities like Taipei reinforce our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and global engagement.

El alcalde pro tem Moreno tuvo el placer de celebrar la Semana del Patrimonio Taiwanesa-Americano durante el Mes del Patrimonio Asiático-Americano e Isleño del Pacífico en el Ayuntamiento de Dallas. Este año es especialmente notable, ya que celebramos veinte años de amistad entre la ciudad de Dallas y nuestra ciudad hermana Taipei en Taiwán. I was honored to be invited to speak to our elementary school students about the importance of reading! It’s through the programs like Catch Up & Read, that helps intervene with our elementary school kids and increases their reading skills before falling further behind. They tutor and teach in English and Spanish so that no child is left behind.
