Behind Democratic Primary Runoff Campaigns

Early voting has ended. Most democratic runoff candidates are fighting a good fight with integrity, good faith, and respect for self and others. We have also observed few candidates exhibiting unethical and disturbing behaviors in their fight for survival. We are sharing a few for voters' awareness.

1. Verbal attack - https://www.dallaobserver.com/news/lgbtq-group-sandra-crenshaw-should-apologize-for-homophobic-attack-against-runoff-opponent-14039229
Sandra Crenshaw attacked his opponent Venton Jones for Texas State Representative for House District 100 recently in a public event. Ms. Crenshaw and Mr. Jones are run-off candidates for state rep for House District 100.

2. Mailer attack - Ms. Michelle Ocker has most recently sent out mailers with false and misleading information about her opponent Sommerman for Commissioner. In her first mailer without any details, she misrepresented herself of having more endorsements from organizations and public officials than Mr. Sommerman. The fact is she has zero endorsement from officials vs. Mr. Sommerman has 12. We are flattered that Ms. Ocker copied our analysis format except she got the data all reversed. The facts are detailed in our analysis on March 30th post.

In Ms. Ocker's second mailer, she attacked Mr. Sommerman with a false accusation of him being Prolife. There has been no evidence of that claim. Mr. Sommerman provided a video rebuttal on his FB page.

We are calling out candidate's disappointing behaviors behind the scenes for voters to choose wisely. Leaders must first be people that can be trusted and respected, with strong moral character. We should not expect or tolerate anything less than that from worthy candidates.

Through our research process, we found the following candidates are clear winners:

Judge Juan Jasso for Justice of Peace, Precinct 5, Place 2
Atalia Garcia Williams for Justice of the Peace 2-1 for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, Place 1
Sommerman for Commissioner Dallas County Commissioner, District 2
Janet Dudding for Texas for Comptroller
John Warren for Dallas County Clerk
Monique J. Huff for Judge for Dallas Co. Criminal Court 10
Venton Jones for Texas State Representative for House District 100 State Rep for House District 100
Jay Kleberg for Texas Land Commissioner for Texas Land Commissioner

If you haven't voted, vote informed. See you out there on Tuesday.

The Second Step to be an Informed Voter

Do your research. Learn and check the facts, differentiate facts from opinions and claims.

1. Learn and check the facts. Focus on candidates' past accomplishment and impact. That is a good indicator of whether they will continue to drive change and impact once they take office.

2. Differentiate facts from opinions and claims. There is more opinion than fact in the world of overloaded media. Do your homework on facts and formulate your own opinion.

3. You are in charge. You are the hiring manager for the political positions that the candidates apply for. Treat voting the same as the hiring process. Think about qualifications and traits needed for the job, assess the candidates if they have the ability and the proven track record to be successful. Keep an open mind. Make the best choice.
