Red for Dyslexia Awareness Day!❤️❤️❤️

10/08/2026

🏕️📚 Welcome to Camp Read-a-Lot! 🔥🍫

Mrs. Morton’s class turned their hard work into a celebration today after reaching their Donation-A-Thon goal!

Students made delicious s’mores, transformed blankets, chairs, and tables into cozy campsites, and snuggled up with great books! 📖✨

What a fun way to celebrate setting a goal, working together, and achieving it! At Shackelford, we know that hard work deserves a little s’more fun! ❤️

Comparing and ordering numbers is way more fun when you take learning outside—and YOU get to be the numbers!

Our 3rd graders brought math to life with movement, teamwork, and hands-on learning. Learning sticks when students get to experience it!

On Wednesdays we wear college shirts!💚

❤️

On October 8th, we’re wearing red to recognize Dyslexia Awareness Day and to celebrate the many different ways our students learn, grow, and shine. ❤️

Students and families, help us fill our schools with red as we show our support for every student and remind them that the way they learn is part of what makes them unique. 🥰

Officer Butler is the BEST sport!! 🐷😂💙

Our Shack family met the goal, and Officer Butler kept his promise! Check him out giving this very squealy pig a big ol’ kiss! 💋🐷

Nothing says “we did it!” quite like a pig kiss—and maybe a little wall tape! Way to take one for the team, Officer Butler! We appreciate you always making celebrations at Shack memorable!

But wait—there’s more! We’ve extended our donation-a-thon for one more week, and our next goal could allow us to tape Mrs. Schaeffer to a wall! Help us reach it and make this celebration one to remember! We are only $2,209 away!!!😂

Friday at Shack was FULL of moments worth celebrating! 💙🌟

We kicked things off with High Five Friday alongside the WHS Lady Indians Softball Team 🥎, celebrated our incredible Lighthouse Legacy Partners, and watched Officer Butler KISS A PIG 🐷💋 because our Shack family met our goal!

Adam Rope with State Farm also helped us recognize one of our families for their top-notch attendance, and of course, we celebrated the students who continue to lead the way at Shack! 🌟

From our students and families to our community partners, Friday was a reminder that great things happen when a community shows up for its kids.

We grow. We model. We lead. Together. 💙

Today 5th grade had fun learning about prepositional phrases!

✏️📚 We got creative by making paper airplanes and using them to write sentences that included prepositional phrases. For example: “My paper airplane landed between the picnic tables.”
Learning grammar is always more fun when we can make it hands-on! ✈️
