Congratulations to the Princeton High School Class of 2026! There are so many of you I’ve known since daycare! It’s hard to believe you all are young adults now! It’s been an honor watching you grow! Go be great! Coach Bryan is always around and will always cheer you on!

And just like that… we’re empty-nesters.

Last night was one of the proudest and most emotional moments as we watched our baby boy, Mayan, graduate.

Mayan, like many in the 2026 class, is one of Princeton’s originals. From daycare to graduation, his entire academic journey was right here in Princeton ISD. So many memories, friendships, coaches, teachers, and moments are tied to this great community.

It’s been so amazing seeing the young man he is becoming. Also, it’s not often your mom gets to sign and hand you your diploma!

Mayan, we love you so much and cannot wait to watch you take on this next chapter of life.

This morning I had the opportunity to attend the Senior Breakfast, and what an awesome experience, seeing the Class of 2026 together, including the baby, Mayan.

This group is special to me for so many reasons. Not only have I had the chance to coach many of these young men and women through the years, but so many of them have truly grown up together right here in Princeton. Some of these kids have been together since daycare, and this morning we even had the opportunity to recreate some old photos.

Tomorrow night is going to be a difficult one emotionally, but I couldn’t be more excited for the next chapter in all of their lives.

Congratulations to the Princeton High School Class of 2026. Your community is proud of you. Greatness awaits!

Happy Mother’s Day!

We have some incredible moms in this community, many of whom I know personally and have witnessed the love, sacrifice, and dedication they pour into their families every single day.

This is one of my favorite photos of the two moms in my life.

We were in College Station for a tournament. Bianca, along with several other moms, had been up half the night putting together snack bags and making sure the boys had everything they needed for the weekend. The next day, my mom surprised Mayan by showing up to watch us play. As soon as she arrived, we cracked one of our family jokes, like we always do, and shared a moment I’ll never forget.

Moments like these remind me that behind so many strong families, and great communities are mothers giving their all without asking for recognition.

Today we celebrate you. Happy Mother’s Day!

This week, I had the opportunity to attend the PISD Teacher Appreciation Banquet and watch Bianca Washington and the rest of the district recognize our Teachers of the Year.

As the son and grandson of former teachers, hearing the stories, passion, and purpose behind why so many educators do what they do truly moved me. It brought back a lot of memories of my own mom getting to school before anyone else and leaving long after everyone had gone home, decorating her classroom and making sure everything was just right.

Teaching is more than a job. It’s a calling.

I’m thankful for every educator who pours into our students day in and day out. Your impact reaches far beyond the classroom, and our community is better because of you.
