Calling all vendors! The Balch Springs Recreation Center is looking for vendors for the City of Balch Springs annual Trunk or Treat event.

All vendors must meet the following requirements to participate in Trunk or Treat:
- Feature a family-friendly Halloween display
- Provide minimum 2,000 individually wrapped pieces of candy
- Offer an interactive game or activity for children

Our Balch Springs Mighty Ducks: Soccer Tots team kicked off with their first practice this Tuesday at the Recreation Center! We can't wait to spend the next 10 weeks playing, learning, and exercising with all of our Soccer Tots. ⚽❤✨

Registration for Soccer Tots closed on August 21st. No more sign-ups are currently being accepted. Registration for our next toddler sports team, Mini Dribblers, will open on November 9th. This toddler basketball team will be open to ages 3-5 and will run from January 12-March 6. What a night to remember! We rolled out the red carpet for Senior Prom on National Senior Citizens' Day (August 21). Over 80 seniors showed up and showed out for this amazing night! During the event, our seniors had the chance to dress up, dance, enjoy delicious food, play bingo, win giveaway prizes, and connect with incredible community vendors.

A huge THANK YOU to our generous sponsors and volunteers for making this magical evening possible!

Join us at the Balch Springs Recreation Center on Saturday, September 12th from 10 AM - 12 PM for Community Engagement Saturday! The event for September is a Family Paint Day. All art supplies will be provided by the Recreation Center and all levels of artistic ability are encouraged to participate. Children ages five and up are welcome to take part in Family Paint Day. The Balch Springs Recreation Center will open late on Wednesday, August 26th at 2 PM for SPARTE staff development. In addition, the Balch Springs Senior Center will close early on Wednesday, August 26th from 12-2 PM for SPARTE staff development.

Both facilities will resume regular business hours on Thursday, August 27th.

LAST CALL FOR SENIOR PROM TICKETS! We're rolling out the red carpet for this year's Senior Prom THIS FRIDAY, August 21st from 4-8 PM at the Balch Springs Civic Center. Join us for a night where you can walk the red carpet and shine like a star!

This event will include a live DJ, dining, bingo, dancing, red carpet photos, and more! All seniors are welcome to come out and take part in the fun.

The last day to buy tickets for Senior Prom is Thursday, August 20th. Tickets are first come, first served.

Tickets are $15 and can be bought in person at the Senior Center if using cash or check. To buy tickets with a debit card, please visit the Balch Springs Recreation Center. For any questions, please contact the Senior Center at (972) 286-9317.

The registration period for the first season of Balch Springs Mighty Ducks: Soccer Tots has been extended to this Friday, August 21st!

This soccer season is open to ages 3-5 years old and will run from September 1st to November 7th. Registration is $80 per child for Balch Springs residents and $100 for non-residents. This registration fee includes a soccer jersey and a Balch Springs Recreation Center membership. For any questions on registration, please call the Balch Springs Recreation Center at (972) 557-6090.
