Veterans of the 721st EN CO are sad to learn of the sudden passing of 1SG (R) Willie Mosley. See attached photo for services information.
1SG Mosley was an absolute champion for Soldiers, a fine developer and mentor for NCOs, and a wonderful council for Commanders and PL’s alike.
His impact on the 721st cannot be understated. He was the first 1SG of this newly numbered unit so many years ago (formerly Alpha Co., 980th EN BN), where he would go on to develop the capabilities of this company for its upcoming deployment to Afghanistan and lay the foundation for what would become "Team Cowboy". This name pays homage to not only our Dallas area roots, but to the founding 1SG of the 721st and his passion for America's Team and his own 721st team. In fact, upon his departure he was gifted a signed painting of Emmitt Smith – a symbolic gesture as Willie was an unstoppable "running back" to the CO's "QB" position. The name "Team Cowboy" is one of his legacies.
A de Fluery award recipient and dedicated NCO, we will all miss 1SG Mosley.
