I used to imagine a place where the weight of Alzheimer’s felt lighter: where families didn't have to walk this path alone. Today, that vision has a home.

I am building this in honor of my mom, Clara D. Young, who lost her battle with Alzheimer's Disease in 2025.

We are thrilled to reveal the redesigned Clara’s House at 320 Pemberton Hill Road. On 2.5 acres in Dallas, TX (Pleasant Grove): the same neighborhood I grew up in: we’ve built a sanctuary. 52% of the site is dedicated to green space, ensuring all 10 suites have direct sightlines to a lush, healing courtyard.

Our stone and timber design honors the neighborhood while serving as a beacon of hope. Beyond residential care, our Dual-Access Training Center provides a dedicated entrance for caregiver workshops. This mission also brings 21 full-time local jobs to our community.

It is more than a building. It is a legacy.

Danny Glover has always used his voice for justice. From his iconic film career to his civil rights activism, he is a legend. Today, he faces a new, deeply personal battle. Mr. Glover recently shared that he is living with Alzheimer’s Disease at 79.

This news resonates deeply within our hearts. My own mother was 78 when she passed away from this same disease. Seeing a legend like Danny Glover navigate this journey brings back the weight of that struggle, but it also sparks a profound sense of purpose.

By speaking out, he is helping to dismantle the stigma surrounding dementia, especially within the Black community where these challenges are too often carried in silence. A diagnosis is difficult, but it does not erase a legacy of resilience.
