AUSA North Texas - Audie Murphy Chapter Supporting soldiers and their families in North Texas

AUSA is a non-profit professional association representing America's Army on Capitol Hill and in local communities. Since 1950, AUSA North Texas - Audie Murphy Chapter has continuously supported North Texas' soldiers, veterans, and their families throughout the geographic area of Mineral Wells in the west, The Red River in the North, Texarkana in the east and Waco to the south. The Chapter raises funds and awareness in support of wounded warriors, PTSD and TBI treatment to assist soldiers and veterans in finding employment in the civilian sector and raise the leadership quotient for individuals and organizations ranging from ROTC programs to public and civic entities. Last week, Kirk Taylor won the Operation Once in a Lifetime Corvette raffle prize.
12000 raffle tickets sold. He bought 5 for $100 at the AUSA Wounded Warrior Golf Classic back in October.

Instead of keeping the car, he did something special. He had Patrick Sowers sell the car for $72,000. Gave $24,000 back to Patrick to purchase the next raffle car. He gave $24,000 to the Army Scholarship Foundation for a permanent $1000 college scholarship to children of Army Veterans going to college. And he's keeping the rest to spread across his other charities.
I want to personally thank him for what he did to pay it back

This weekend, I happened to be in Washington DC. I had a task to find a group of 3 men who were on the Korean War Memorial.
I found the photo and had it verified by CSM Bill Bill Jimenez. He was 18 years old and coming off the line. Was interviewed about the shortage of ammo.
He the one in the middle. I'm betting he's the only one alive who is shown on the wall.
