When thrift feels like family. 🪡✨
Meet Araceli, Yaya, and Marcella 💚 These lovely ladies are just a few of the staff members who are committed to bringing good vibes, good quality and great service to the Genesis Benefit Thrift Store!
The love and support from our thrift staff has been integral to our mission. Not only do they raise critical funds that support the life-saving, no-cost services offered to women and children experiencing domestic violence; they also raise the spirits of those same women and children who may come to the thrift store in need of clothing or items to begin rebuilding their lives.
We are beyond grateful to our thrift team for everything they do for our customers, our clients and our community!

This year’s Enterprise Golf Tournament was an ace in the hole ✨🏌️♂️Thank you to Enterprise for selecting Genesis as their beneficiary this year, to sponsors for helping make the big day happen and to golfers for showing up and showing out on the green yesterday!
Hold the screen for an exercise in self-compassion ✨
Self-compassion is the practice of showing yourself compassion when you suffer, fail, or feel inadequate. While we often think about compassion as a way to interact with those around you, giving yourself the same amount of grace you give others can help build a positive self image and can improve both physical and mental wellbeing. This Mental Health Awareness Month, give yourself permission to do what’s best for you, and allow yourself to find comfort in your kindness 💚

If we had to pick one word to describe our 33rd Annual Luncheon, it would be inspirational. Thank you to our sponsors, event co-chairs Stephanie Bond and Angela Crates, day-of donors, volunteers and Genesis staff who all helped make an afternoon as beautiful as yesterday possible. And thank you to our powerhouse speaker Mariska Hargitay, whose candor, integrity and passion filled the ballroom with a captivating energy that won't be forgotten.
We are truly proud to create spaces that spark conversation and change. What we saw yesterday was over 1,500 people declare that violence against women is never okay, and also say that what we are doing deserves the financial support of this community. It is with your help that we can achieve our mission of spreading awareness around domestic violence and providing life-saving services to women and children at no cost.
Mariska Hargitay at Dallas fundraiser: ‘We all have secrets’ The ‘Law & Order: SVU’ star talked about her famous Texas mom, her sexual-assault activism and freeing herself from silence at a Genesis Women’s Shelter event.
