La Voz Del Anciano turns 36
On August 19th La Voz Del Anciano (The Voice of the Elderly) will celebrate 36 years of providing services to the elderly, particularly in the Latino community of Dallas.
To coincide with its 36th anniversary La Voz del Anciano (LVDA) will open its new computer lab on Aug. 22, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church of Oak Cliff, 1822 W. 10th St., Dallas, TX 75208. The festivities will be from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Our dedication program starts at 10 a.m.
A $15,000 grant from GTECH Corporation for a state of the art computer lab to serve its members and the Latino Community of Dallas County made the computer lab a reality for La Voz Del Anciano.
"I am thrilled that older adults will learn basic computer skills and learn to use the social networks to keep in touch with their families," said Sylvia Lagos, Executive Director of La Voz del Anciano.
La Voz del Anciano (LVDA) is a 501©3 non-profit organization serving the Latino elderly in Dallas County, Texas. LVDA has been serving the needs of the Latino elderly since its inception in 1976. The mission of LVDA is as follows: To empower and connect the elderly of Dallas County mainly Latino elderly to education, technology, health and social services; collaborating to enrich the entire community.
