If you’re interested in joining the California Southern Baptist Disaster Relief team, this is a great opportunity to get involved. We’ll be offering a variety of trainings, including chaplaincy, cleanup, feeding, chainsaw, assessments, and Incident Command Systems—there’s something for everyone!

To my fellow servants of the Sacramento Baptist Association:

I want to encourage you and your church family to plan to come and join with the other churches in our association at our annual meeting where we are going to celebrate together what God has done and is doing in our midst. We are planning a time of celebration, sharing, and inspiration. Here are the details:

Place: First Baptist Church, Orangevale – 8998 Central Avenue, Orangevale, California 95662

Time: Sunday, November 2 @ 6:30pm

Doors will open at 6pm and refreshments will be available, both before meeting and afterwards.

We will join in worship together, rejoice in what God is doing among us, take care of a few business items, and hear from Ken Campbell, pastor at Capital City Baptist Church.

There will also be an opportunity to connect with people from various Southern Baptist entities, such as the Baptist Foundation, Gateway Seminary, and others.

Church administrators, finance chairs and treasurers:
There is currently in the Sacramento area a group of scammers calling churches and attempting to defraud them of money because of an unpaid balance. Some clues...

-they call from a "toll-free" number, not shown as SMUD
-SMUD will always send you a "green" envelope if you are delinquent and pending shut-off.
-they will ask you to go to a SMUD "pay station," such as Walmart to make a payment from a barcode/QR code they will send you, sent via a text to a cell phone.
-they will start small, and once they get the first amount, they will call again for more.

ALWAYS hang up and call SMUD direct from a landline to the customer service number shown at the top of your SMUD bill. I have talked to 2 churches in our area that had this call today.
