We were honored to be surrounded by so many BCA supporters at our Leadership Arts Institute Preview Reception last week. Business and arts leaders from across DFW gathered together at the JW Marriott to hear from our new CEO, Stacie Adams, and BCA staff about LAI, a wonderful opportunity to strengthen board leadership skills, connections to the North Texas arts scene, and passion for doing good for our community. We cannot wait to see many of your faces in our LAI 2023-2024 sessions! Thank you to the JW Marriott Dallas Arts District team for hosting, Lily Cabatu Weiss, Executive Director of the Arts District, and Leadership Arts Alumni for speaking.

Congratulations, Melanie Guthrie Sanders (LAI Dallas Class of 2023), for being successfully matched with the Dallas Black Dance Theatre's Board of Directors!

Melanie is currently the Senior Manager, Brand Cultural Strategy at Walmart, where she leads their marketing efforts on how they can connect and engage with diverse audiences and communities in meaningful ways.

She is also active in the Junior League of Dallas, a board member with the St. Phillip's School and Community Center, and she works as a Social Media Marketing Consultant for Forest Forward in South Dallas.

We are so proud! 👏

Calling all Arts Orgs in North Texas!

Surveys for the Arts and Economic Prosperity Study 6 are due no later than Friday, June 23.

All participating organizations are doing their part to advocate for the economic viability of the arts and the nation-wide visibility of DFW arts and culture.

AEP6 is the sixth economic impact study of the nonprofit arts and culture industry in the U.S. This study is conducted approximately every five years to gauge the economic impact (on employment, government revenue, and household income) of spending by nonprofit arts and culture organizations and the event-related spending by their audiences.

Results from AEP 5 concluded that the nonprofit arts and culture industry generated $166.3 billion in economic activity (spending by organizations plus the event-related spending by their audiences) which supported 4.6 million jobs and generated $27.5 billion in government revenue.
