Ashley Henson, Sheriff

The primary purpose of the Sheriff’s Office is to maintain social order within prescribed ethical and constitutional limits, while providing professional law enforcement services to all. To attain this, the Department enforces the law in a fair and impartial manner, recognizing both the statutory and judicial limitations of Sheriffs’ authority and the constitutional rights of all persons. Earlier today, deputies with our Courthouse Security Division, along with Paulding County School District Safety, helped the amazing folks at CAYA (Come As You Are Reconciliation Ministries) pack summer lunches for local children. CAYA was then able to deliver more than 700 lunches to kids throughout our community.

These efforts make a real difference during the summer months when many children rely on programs like this for regular meals. Shoutout to these deputies and officers who turned lunch-packing into a full-on community mission!

Our new HEAT Unit (Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic) has officially kicked off the 100 Days of Summer HEAT Campaign.

From Memorial Day through Labor Day, our deputies are partnering with the Georgia GOHS, other local law enforcement agencies, and state troopers across Georgia to target dangerous driving behaviors and reduce fatal crashes during one of the deadliest travel seasons of the year.

🚔 Dangerous Speeds
🚔 Reckless Driving
🚔 DUI Enforcement
🚔 Seatbelt Violations

If you’re driving carelessly on the roads this summer, there’s a good chance you’ll meet our HEAT Unit. Trust us, you do not want to FAFO on Paulding roads.

This statewide safety initiative has been protecting Georgia highways since 2004, and our deputies will be out in full force working to keep families safe all summer long.

✅ Slow down
✅ Buckle up
✅ Stay alert
✅ Get home safely

Before the cookouts, the lake days, and the long weekend plans, we pause.

Memorial Day is not about those of us still standing here. It is about the men and women who gave every tomorrow they had so the rest of us could keep ours.

From all of us at the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, we honor the fallen, we remember their families, and we ask our community to carry that gratitude with them today.

Their sacrifice is not a talking point. It is a debt we live under every day.

Never forgotten.

The holiday weekend is officially pulling into the driveway like it owns the place.

We want everybody to enjoy it — grill something, go to the lake, sit on the porch, argue with your cousin about potato salad, whatever brings you peace.

But hear us clearly, shug:

Do not drink and drive.
Do not let your “I’m fine” friend drive.
Do not turn the family cookout into an episode of COPS.
Do not make us open up a holiday weekend room at the Henson Hotel.

Call a ride, hand over the keys, wear your seatbelt, watch your speed, and make good choices.

We would much rather wave at you in traffic than meet you on the side of the road.

Y’all be safe. Don’t be the reason we have to put on our serious pants.

Take care.

A big THANK YOU to local Scout Micah Dixon (Troop 3070 - Villa Rica) for donating this American Flag retirement box to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office as part of his journey to becoming an Eagle Scout! 🇺🇸

Thanks to Micah’s hard work and dedication, citizens now have a respectful place to properly retire worn or damaged American flags. The retirement box is located in the lobby of the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and is available for community use during normal business hours.

Flags may get weathered, faded, and torn over time… but Old Glory still deserves the respect she’s earned.

We’re proud of young leaders like Micah who are making a difference right here in Paulding County. Congratulations on taking another big step toward becoming an Eagle Scout!

Hey Shug, you know it's that time of year to pack your "patience pants." High school graduation is in full swing, so pack that extra patience through the end of the week as our grads finish out their school year.

**SUBJECT HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED**

Thank you to everyone that has provided information.

We have recently received several complaints about a reckless dirt bike rider in the Seven Hills and Cedarcrest area who has managed to elude deputies multiple times.

This individual has been seen riding recklessly through traffic, popping wheelies on public roadways, and turning busy intersections into his own personal stunt show. Shug, this ain’t a motocross track.

If you know this individual or can positively identify him, we would LOVE to speak with you. Once identified, he will be facing several charges. These reckless and careless acts will not be tolerated this summer.

Reckless riding like this puts innocent drivers, families, and pedestrians at risk. Fool around & find out is not a transportation plan.

📞 If you have information, please contact the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line: 770-443-3047 or send us a private message. You can remain anonymous.
