We loved every second of the Deep Ellum Community Arts Fair. From April 3rd to 5th, we were out in the community providing Naloxone training and showcasing some of the latest decorated free vending machines.
A massive thank you to our volunteers (shoutout to Elena for bringing the dance moves!) and to everyone who stopped by the booth to learn more about harm reduction. Together, we’re making our community safer one kit at a time.

The teen brain is still developing—and repeated ma*****na use can have lasting effects.
According to the DEA and CDC, research shows that 1 in 6 teens who repeatedly use ma*****na will develop an addiction.
That’s why education, awareness, and honest conversations matter. When young people have the facts, they’re better equipped to make healthy decisions for their future.
Let’s continue building a community that supports prevention through knowledge.

Did you know?
According to the DEA’s Get Smart About Drugs campaign, teens who use ma*****na have a doubled risk to develop psychotic or bipolar disorders, as reported by new research.
Adolescence is a critical time for brain development. Substances can affect the way the brain grows, processes emotions, and manages stress.
Prevention starts with honest conversations and accurate information.

Always call 911, and try to urge someone to receive emergency care (if possible) after administering Naloxone (Narcan). Naloxone's effects only last for about 30 to 45 minutes and if not followed up by emergency medical care, can potentially wear off and cause the person to fall back into their poisoned state.
