TMWF is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, family social service organization. Our mission empowers, promotes and supports all women and their families through anti-domestic violence education, interfaith outreach, philanthropy, and social services.

What does "hope" mean to you?

Hope is a feeling of trust and confidence that what you want will happen and that there's a possibility in your favor. This DVAM, we want to show survivors that hope is in their favor. 💜

Peace in the Home's "Hope Starts Here" campaign, running unil October 31st, helps survivors find safety, support, and light at the end of the tunnel. We're inviting our community to sponsor a leaf on our shelter's Tree of Hope, so every family who walks in sees that people stand with them. 🍂💜

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, honor someone who has reminded you to keep going. 🍂💜

With every donation, a personalized leaf is added as a message of hope and encouragement for survivors and families in our emergency shelter. When our survivors take a look at our Tree of Hope, they're reminded of the community members that support, cherish, care of them.

This survivor wrote back to us to share her journey towards healing from our shelter and beyond. When we receive letters like these, we're reminded that our efforts, passion, and mission make a difference in someone's life. 💜

Join us for an afternoon of delicious food and games! All proceeds will go towards our mission of serving and supporting survivors of domestic violence through our passionate resources, services, and safe housing. 🤗

This question is currently written on our community board at Peace in the Home's office.

During this month, we are reminded that hope looks different for everyone. Whether it's advocating for change, educating your loved ones, or sharing a few simple words of encouragement with survivors of domestic violence, hope makes a difference.

Making changes in how we talk about domestic violence and what we say to survivors can greatly impact their healing journey. 💜🗣️

At Peace in the Home, we strive to re-write the accusatory and victim-blaming language when talking about domestic violence. Although you may have good intentions when speaking with survivors, it's possible that the language that we use may blame the victim, even though that's not what we mean.
