Growing strong, healthy and self-sustaining families and communities. Within 4 months, there were 7 girls. They had to think of things differently.

The vision that would become AID International stemmed from a decision in 1996 to open up a children's home. Marlaine and Daniel Alix named the home Faith & Love in Action, as this was truly the only way to express their family’s determination to open up their 3-bedroom home to kids that had been orphaned or placed in difficult situations. While they weren’t completely sure how it would all work,

Preparing for Irma and Tropical Storms

Preparing for Irma and Tropical Storms Thank you to everyone who has been checking in on us in light of Hurricane Irma. Many thanks as well to those who have already supported or are working on the container of supplies that will provide relief on the other side of these storms.  Marlaine and Daniel are on the ground with the kids and ha...

A local/Dallas business just learned about a friend (Samuel) in Haiti who is in need of serious medical attention and reached out to AID for support. He was in need of emergency surgery and still needs financial support to continue medical care. If you or anyone you know is able to give $5 or $10 - any amount helps - please do so on our iGiveHere website to make a contribution. One of our staff members in Haiti has been able to visit Samuel in PAP and we will make sure any contributions go directly to the hospital for his care. https://www.igivehere.org/aid Thank you.

Our New Years Resolution is to continue having an impact where it's needed most. This past week, our staff, 20 of the kids and an amazing group of students from Regent University have been providing service in the villages. So far, over 4000 tree seedlings have been placed in nursery, daily basic English lessons offered to increase communication, and they continue to work with the village elders in preparation for school launch on Monday.

It took 3 truck loads, a few donkeys, and night hiking to make it happen - but team is in village of Ravine Matin planting coffee with the farmers and other projects.

If you think the little things don't have any impact - think again. The lovely Cher Murphy provided seedlings to Marlaine awhile ago and despite the drought, these seeds were planted in Thiotte. The pictures below are of the kale and broccoli now blooming in Thiotte! The team just took down a truck-load of fruits and vegetables from these gardens to feed the kids and the many families that have come to count on us to help put food on the table. :)

Good afternoon from Jacmel! Every summer our kids learn how to sew their own uniforms. We've expanded these classes and our students in Marbial also are learning to sew. Thank you for your continued support. Have a blessed and wonderful week!
