Congratulations to all of our SURF students who presented their research last night at the annual poster session. The Summer Undergraduate Research Program provides a stipend and housing to students and is a 10 week research program. Students work with faculty mentors on these projects. This year, the science programs had six participants. Kyle Bohlin (chemistry), William Fauntleroy (chemistry), Tara Sweeney (biology), Sara Abdo (biology), Caitlyn Henry (biology), and Peyton Kimmel (biology). Thanks to all of the CHM 133 students for attending and supporting our students! πŸ’™ πŸ’› 🧬 πŸ§ͺ

We always love to see our alumni back on campus! Abrielle Garber (biochemistry graduate!) was on campus today presenting to our students on behalf of the post graduate programs at Salus University! She is currently in her third year in the doctorate of optometry program at Salus! She did a fantastic presentation on how students can prepare now for professional school applications! πŸ’™ πŸ’›

The department would like to congratulate Dr. Megan Mackintosh (Toda) a 2015 graduate of our chemistry program! She successfully defended this past week and will receive her PhD in computational chemistry from the University of Louisville! She has been accepted into a prestigious post-doctoral program at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem! Megan was in the first cohort of the university's Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program and published two articles with Dr. Fedor based on this research experience! We are incredibly proud of her achievements! Congratulations Megan!
