Last week I listened to a litigator at another firm describe her Tuesday to me.
She started at 7 AM revising a premarital agreement her client wanted sent by noon. At 10 AM she took a new-client consultation that ran 30 minutes long. At 11:30 she drove to a temporary orders hearing she'd prepped for in 20-minute chunks between the other things...and then she lost the hearing. She told me she didn’t know if it was the prep or the panic.
That's not a personal failing. That's a system failing.
Here's what a Tuesday looks like for a litigator at my firm:
8:30 — Case strategy review with paralegal on tomorrow's hearing. Exhibits are already prepped. Witness list is already finalized. She spends the hour refining her argument, not building binders.
10:00 — Court appearance. She comes in ready because prep was done a week ago.
12:00 — Lunch. (Yes, actual lunch.)
1:00 — Deposition prep for Thursday. The AI tool has summarized the 400 pages of financial documents into a 3-page brief that the paralegal has reviewed and tweaked. The attorney reads the brief, flags what she wants to push on, and moves on.
3:00 — Existing client meeting regarding upcoming court hearing - she’s already prepped by the paralegal so the attorney can focus on litigation matters.
4:30 — Drafting? No. That's not her job. She delegates that work to the drafting team.
5:30 — Home.
This isn't a fantasy. It's a structure. We’re building it.
If you're a litigator who wants to litigate (or you know one) — and do it without burning out — I'm hiring.
