Elfin Magic Columbia County

Fall is here. Wait no back to summer. No definitely fall. Wanted to share a new business in our community. You may remember Dar from last year. She did the planning and cooking for the Elfin Magic Holiday party. If you went to the party than you know this woman can cook.

Hallmark is looking for its next Christmas Town to film a movie. I think our community would be perfect. I sent in an application. Hoping a few more people will as well. This would be so good for our community and its businesses.

Hello fellow Elves!

It’s now official that Vicki Zoller sold her house and will be moving away from our community. As many of you know she is a big asset to Columbia County. She has given so much to the community. I am trying to raise donations to get her gift cards for Walla Walla as a way for us to say thank you for everything she has done.

Here is a story that relates to Elfin Magic. When I first came up with the idea it didn’t seem like it was something the community wanted to participate in. I was giving up hope on the idea of Elfin Magic. I messaged Vicki and told her I was going to shut it down. She immediately jumped in with words of encouragement. She explained that the community just needed a little time to learn about Elfin Magic and what I hoped to achieve. And within a couple days we started getting our first donations. She really got into the Elf project in a quiet way. Started raising donations for families that needed help during the holidays and some cheer. She filled up two vehicles for one family with donations! The following year she again encouraged us elves to get out there and spread kindness and joy. When I wonder if we are making a difference she stops what she is doing and encourages the process.

Here is our chance as a community to tell her thank you. I am hoping we can give her a big send off full of fun useful gift cards so that she knows how much she means to this community. So fellow elves what do you say? Will you help us achieve this goal?

Pizzas were delivered to Dayton and Waitsburg as a way for the community to say thank you. Elfin Magic is able to do these types of things because of the community donations. All money donated goes to the community projects. We are asked all year long to help with things going around the community even though we are the most active during the holiday.

I truly appreciate that so many people wanted to help out. Laurie, Tami, Candy, Kelli, MooseCreek Bakery and Buckwheat Pizza.

Well the Elves are coming off their break today. Would we technically be called leprechauns considering what today is?
We partnered up with Buckwheat Pizza to spread some kindness to the people helping out with the flooding. Our community donated so we could say thank you and how much they are appreciated. Best way to say that is yummy pizza with lots of toppings!
You may see us out delivering pizza today! Some people will consider this like finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!
If you would like to donate to help us feed the workers there is a gift card at Buckwheats pizza, we have a bank account under Elfin Magic at Wheatland Bank or contact me directly.
I am reminding myself to not steal a slice of pizza from the police…..

Update- one of our elves is running to buckwheat pizza place to donate some money to buy our crews some food

As my friends know we have been affected by the flooding. I am watching our neighbors and community being affected by the flooding and I feel helpless. As you know Elfin Magic is about spreading kindness and community spirit during the holidays. I am wondering if people would 1. Want us to try and help during this time? 2. If people would be willing to donate money or their services to help our community? If we pooled our sources we could help our community and bring hope and kindness.
All of the donations would be to help individual community members. Maybe buy gravel, pay for excavation, repairs, tree services, clean up, meals for our crews that are trying to clean this mess up?

Today I was at Costco. A woman recognized me as the elf from Dayton. It felt good to know that Elfin Magic makes people happy. I know people have told me how much it means to the community but today was a reminder of that.

She was one of Elfin Magic Columbia County biggest fans. She encouraged us when I wanted to give up on the idea. She donated so much to our community. I truly miss her

This lovely lady is on our minds today....we are delivering posters today to put in your windows to let people know there will be a celebration of life for Mindy Betzler on Saturday, February 14th at 1:00pm. If we miss you, please stop by the Dayton Chamber and grab one or let us know and we will drop one off. We would like to see this poster in every window as our way of celebrating this woman who gave so much to our community!
