10/21/2026

Bobcat Nation,

Missouri is preparing to release its first pilot Aโ€“F school ratings, based on data from the 2024โ€“25 school year. Here at Delta, we expect our grade to be high. We are proud of our kids, teachers, and support staff. We see the progress happening every day in our schools.

So today, I want to reach out to families directly to explain what this new rating can tell them, and also what it cannot tell them. MAP tests measure how students perform on grade-level standards, and EOC tests measure how they perform on course standards. A performance level describes how a student did on the skills assessed by that test. It is not a literal reading grade level or a complete picture of everything a student knows and can do.

A score below Proficient means a student did not meet the stateโ€™s benchmark on that assessment. It does not mean the student cannot read, and it does not identify the studentโ€™s reading grade level.

We look at state testing alongside STAR, IXL, classroom work, student growth, and what our teachers see every day. The state grade is one snapshot. It is not the whole story of Delta or of any child.

Again, we expect our grade here at Delta to be high. Having said that, as these ratings are released, we encourage people not to get too caught up in comparing one schoolโ€™s grade to another. Whether a school receives a high grade or a low one, keep in mind that this is a snapshot from a brand-new state pilot system. There is no track record showing how consistently or accurately the ratings reflect the full work happening in our schools. A grade by itself does not tell the whole story about a school, its teachers, or its students.

In closing, I just want to thank all of you for the way you support this school. The support shown by our Delta community is second to none. The way all of you back our kids and our teachers, the way you always show up, is truly appreciated by myself and all of our staff.

Weโ€™ll keep you all updated when these new school grades are released.

Sincerely,

David H**b
Superintendent
Delta R-V School District
