This goes for wind turbines, solar farms, and transmission lines too.

This is my prairie, this is my home The story of America’s farmers and ranchers runs far deeper than the crops and cattle that we raise. It’s a connection to the land, the wildlife, the wide open spaces, and having a front row...

Your Land, Your Rules: Protect Local Authority in Siting Energy Facilities in Colorado. Act Now! 29/02/2024

Legislators in Denver are proposing to have the state determine where transmission corridors and wind and solar facilities can be placed - overriding any regulations set forth by county officials. If you are a Colorado resident, please sign this petition asking that these land use decisions remain in the hands of those who are most impacted - maintaining local control. And please share this petition link with others!

A couple of photos of a young cow and a yearling heifer during our current warm spell. They enjoy the end of the blue norther and warm sunshine as much as we do. Happy cattle these warm days.

Here's a photo taken Monday, 29 January 2024. It is very cool to have these magnificent raptors around Cwm Ceffyl Ranch LLC every day. Shame on Xcel Energy for being so willing to destroy their habitat in the Bijou Basin. I highly value the eagles even if Xcel Energy wishes to destroy their homes (and our homes, too).

I have taken so many photos of perched bald eagles over the years that I stopped doing it. The downside to that is that if I don't have my telephoto camera with me, I don't get a photo if the eagles (or other wildlife) do something remarkable. So I'll be back after wildlife photos, even if the eagles are perched. Here is one that I took on Monday, 29 January 2024. More to follow.

Scenes from the Simla meeting. Please plan to attend the Xcel meeting in Kiowa on Wednesday, 10/18, at the Fairgrounds. Xcel is holding an Open House from 5 to 7:30. We are asking people to be there at 6:00.

04/10/2023

As of today, one week before the Simla meeting, Xcel has yet to post these meetings on their website. Why??? They do not want many people to attend. We MUST all come together to attend one or both of these meetings, to show Xcel that we oppose their route through the heart of Elbert County!
