It is finally completed!!
We were hoping for a bit of fanfare for the unveiling - but we’ll take the finished project!!

We will have a more prolific announcement, but for now, enjoy your drive up and down I25 between C470 and Belleview.

I have been fortunate enough to have some incredible assistance from Mike DellOrfano at South Metro Fire Rescue with a process I am totally unfamiliar with but - here we go...

I had a dream to somehow make the efforts and sacrifices our first responders make daily, front and center for members of our community. So I decided to work to have a portion of a
state highway designated as the Firefighters Memorial Highway in Memory of Chief Troy Jackson. This would honor Troy's years of service, LODD, and contributions to cancer prevention and highlight all firefighters. Lobbyist Driver helped navigate the process but unfortunately it had some formatting issues when submitted by legislative staff, so it will have to wait and be presented next year. In the meantime, representative Clifford read a brief tribute to Troy into the record, which was really nice and received a great response. My hope is that this may give me enough of a kickoff to get some financing for the portion of the highway

I hope you follow it and prayerfully consider donating to the cause to fund it. We are hoping that it will be the portion of I25 at around Belleview and all the way to C470 or Lincoln. These are roads that are in South Metro's district and it makes me smile to think our rigs and personnel and families and friends will drive these on a very regular basis.

I will update the page when we have official approval from the legislature (January 28, 2025) and when the unveiling will happen. (You may notice because it will disrupt traffic when they go to hang it...)
