✨ The Tawasi Federated Women’s Club of Des Moines is honored to celebrate and congratulate our very own club member and Iowa Association of Colored Women’s Club President, Linda Harrell!

Last night, the Harrell Foster Care Scholarship hosted its 8th Annual Banquet — a powerful evening recognizing and uplifting youth and families connected to the foster care system. Three families received Foster Care Appreciation Awards, and scholarships were awarded to two outstanding students pursuing higher education. 🎓👏🏾

The well-attended event welcomed state representatives Rob Johnson and Mary Madison, along with members of the Des Moines Police and Fire Departments, IHHS, and Four Oaks.

Since its founding, the Harrell Foster Care Scholarship has awarded over $40,000 in scholarship funds — a true testament to the impact one person can have when they lead with love, vision, and commitment to community. 💜

Congratulations, Linda! We are so proud of you!
