Hey Iowa… WTF? Here are 8 new bills Iowa has signed into law that are changing things from tuition to gender identity.

Power lies in unification, so Iowa WTF has created a networking form for advocates and organization as around the state to connect, but also to help connect youth to mentors and begin learning how to advocate. Trump is trying to dismantle the U.S Department of Education responsible for providing funding and programs to help low socioeconomic students, students with disabilities, civil rights protections and more.
But, he doesn’t have the power to do this without congress’s approval. Please contact your representatives today and urge them to stand against Trump’s actions and effort to dismantle the U.S Department of Education and protect funding and protections that is essential to many students in the U.S!

Iowa has taken a 17 year step backwards. Trans Iowans are under attack. Reynolds has set precedent that legislators can discriminate against any group they decide fits.

Today, the Iowa House passed House File 583 and Senate File 418. IowaWTF as well as fellow organizations will continue the fight for trans rights in Iowa. We are saddened by the hate that now flourishes in this state. To the trans community: We see you, we hear you, we stand with you.

Support your local libraries against book bans. Tell your local representatives to vote NO on House File 521. Protect intellectualism. Protect books.

The attack on Iowas LGBT+ community continues to ravage. The Senate filed a new legislative piece which mimicks HSB242. This is another attack on the LGBT+ community as well as education in Iowa. Email the Senate judicidary community as well as your local representatives and senators. Make your stance known: Protect EVERY Iowan.

IowaWTF joined over 250 protestors today at the capitol protesting HSB242, a bill of hate towards the LGBT community. We stand united against the repeated attacks on marginalized groups across Iowa.

Executive Director Desiyre Miller, Legislative Director Hadley Harvey, Public Relations Director Ian Schaffer, as well as aiding director Comfort Toluwalase were apart of the protests today.

The Iowa Civil Rights Removal Act is being debated in a house subcommittee tomorrow (Feb. 24) in room 103 at 11am. We encourage as many people to show up and stand up for whats right: Protecting and defending the rights of our neighbors. Our presence will be there. Fight with us.
