Developing Our Community

MISSION: To empower and engage residents and businesses across MorningSide, East English Village, and Cornerstone Village with the knowledge, skills, resources, and support to revitalize our communities in a sustainable way for future generations. We’ve started with building up our residents through free and low-cost programs such as the computer classes for seniors and the workforce development program of reupholstering furniture.

VISION: MECCA is a diverse, non-profit coalition of neighborhoods, endeavoring for an improved quality of life for Detroit’s far east side residents.

We’re excited about new initiatives and changes coming in 2019.
