Planning for a rapid transit system began in 2006 when the Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) conducted an Alternatives Analysis (AA) study known as Detroit Transit Options for Growth Study (DTOGS). "Yesterday we presented our rationale for operating the Woodward Light Rail Transit system in the City of Detroit. City Council will reconvene with an Adjourned Session on Monday to vote on approval of Bonds and TIGER Grant to support the project. We are excited and hopeful for a positive vote by Council."
