Today, we honor Aireona! Aireona is another nine-year student, and she is part of a BIG family crew that has made their home at our school. It is bittersweet to send her off!

InsideOut Literary Arts 💚💛

Detroit youth poets display their words on billboards in the city Detroit billboards display the musings of young poets through the work of nonprofit literary group called InsideOut Literary Arts on May 27, 2026.

Today we are celebrating Jane! Jane has attended the Boggs School dating all the way back to first grade and will be moving on to Detroit School of Arts with a focus on (many forms of) instrumental music next year. This surprises no one, and we are very excited!

Today, we are celebrating Phoenix!

Phoenix joined our school in the seventh grade, just enough time to become Boggs family! Phoenix will be attending Cass Tech in the fall.

Our next 8th-grade honoree is Theron!
Theron is another nine-year student, and he has grown from looking up at all of us to looking down on ALL of us!
Theron will be attending Henry Ford Academy in Dearborn.

The Boggs School’s 2026-27 budget hearing will take place Wed, 6/17/26, at the Boggs School, 7600 Goethe St., Detroit, MI 48214. This meeting is open to the public. The regular meeting, budget hearing, and annual meeting are held that evening beginning at 5:30, so the budget hearing time will vary.

The Boggs School’s authorizer is Eastern Michigan University and its ESP is AxiosHR.

We at the school can't believe it, but SOMEHOW it is time to start celebrating our 8th graders as we prepare for promotion! We are going to miss them all so much. 💚💛💚💛

We start with Ella, who is a nine-year student and part of a large family of Boggs School Solutionaries! Ella will be following the family tradition and attending Cass Tech in the fall. Good luck, Ella!

We have inducted a new group of wonderful people into the five-year club! They have given five years of service and love to our school community! We are so grateful to Ms. Jean (who has given us MANY more than five years), Ms. Patricia, Ms. Annie, Teacher Woods, and Mr. Long (not pictured)!
