Sunnyside Fire District🚒 – Smoke Detector Safety Program🔥
•The Sunnyside Fire District is providing free smoke detectors to residents in our community to help improve home fire safety. Our goal is to ensure homes have working smoke detectors to protect families and reduce fire-related injuries.
Basic Smoke Detector Placement Guide
• Install a smoke detector in or near sleeping areas.
• Place detectors on the ceiling or high on a wall.
• Keep detectors away from kitchens or bathrooms to avoid false alarms.
• Test the detector regularly to make sure it is working.
• Replace the battery when needed and replace the detector every 10 years.

This morning 25 years ago, the day that changed the lives of so many people! Our flags still fly high today to honor those affected by this tragedy!!!

WE REMEMBER those lives lost, those heroes that ran towards the unknown to help.
We will pray and give a moment of silence for those lives lost, those survivors that live with the memories of the tragic event, and the families of the ones lost.

Yesterday morning, the Sunnyside Fire District responded to a residential structure fire in the 1300 block of 25th Street. Mutual aid agencies from Douglas Fire and Porterville Fire also responded to assist with the incident.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Unfortunately, the residence sustained extensive damage and was considered a total loss. The home appeared to be vacant at the time of the incident.

We would like to thank our mutual aid partners for their assistance and continued support.

❤️ Thank You from Sunnyside Fire District! 🚒

On behalf of the Sunnyside Fire District, we would like to sincerely thank everyone who came out today and supported our Barbacoa Fundraiser! Your generous support means so much to us.

Thanks to your help, we will be able to send four of our firefighters to fire school in Mesa this September. This training will help them further develop their skills and knowledge so they can better serve our department, our community, and the surrounding areas.

We truly appreciate everyone who donated, purchased food, volunteered, shared our fundraiser, or simply stopped by to show their support. We could not do it without you! ❤️

Today, Sunnyside Fire Dist. Engine 293 and three of our firefighters—Jake Escalante, Leo Compas, and Engine Boss Andy Compas—are currently en route to the Frijoles Fire 🔥in northern New Mexico.
They are traveling to assist other agencies currently fighting this wildland fire. We want to wish them safe travels and a safe return.🙏🏼🫡

Hey everyone the Sunnyside Fire district will be selling barbacoa plates this 28th of August to generate funds to send some of the guys to fire school this September 9-13 up in Phoenix. Tickets are available or can call to place order to any of the numbers delivery will be available as well thank you for your support from the Sunnyside Fire District. 👨‍🚒🚒🙏🏽 Any donations are also welcomed.

At 22:22 responded to vehicle fire 🚙🔥 located at CochiceCollege, Great response time from our crew! Got to scene and control fire and avoiding to escalate to building fire!
