A judge has said the quiet part out loud. We don't have a right to clean water. This is why, every year, I introduced a resolution in. the Iowa House to put this question on the ballot: Should the people's right to clean water be part of the state Constitution?

A Trump-appointed judge also said Americans have no “constitutional right to truthful information” during a public health crisis.

Great to see Iowa State University practicing more of what it preaches. Much of what they are doing is not new. The question is: Why are so many landowners not doing it? I have been to dozens of farm "field days" over the years showcasing these practices. No one keeps track of the "adoption rate" -- what percentage of farmers who show up implement what they learn. It's probably pretty low. Obviously beneficial conservation practices should be required to get taxpayer-subsidized crop insurance and other payments from the federal government. Then farmers will show up and learn how to implement those practices.
