“We the People January 6th Day of Remembrance and Action” Vigil on January 6, 2022 Duluth City Hall, noon - 1 pm.
January 6, 2022, marks one year since the violent insurrection of our national Capitol. This was the start of ongoing attacks on our democracy throughout the year resulting in many states passing laws that make it harder to vote. On January 6, we will come we will come together to build community, condemn the actions from the insurrection, and work to pass key voting rights legislation.

Duluth elects Azrin Awal as its first Asian American City Council member Azrin Awal, a 25-year-old immigrant from Bangladesh, is also the first Muslim to join the council in the mostly white port city on Lake Superior. Awal's campaign focused on inclusion, affordable housing and climate issues.
