I would like to personally thank the Dunbar Public Works department for their huge pick ups last Friday. I drove around this morning and things look so much better. If you have extra pick ups, please call to have scheduled. I believe that they showed their appreciation for their well deserved pay increase. I am so grateful I am not out there in the elements and dealing with everyone’s waste, I don’t even like my own 🤢

I know that nothing is perfect but I do believe we have been making some changes and trying to do better. City of Dunbar, West Virginia

As a leader, you hold a profound, almost sacred power: THE ABILITY TO CHANGE A LIFE EVERY SINGLE DAY. This is so important, and it's not hyperbole.

A single moment of genuine validation can be the catalyst that transforms a struggling employee into a confident innovator. Conversely, tearing someone down doesn't just hurt their output—it diminishes their spirit.

True leadership is the art of belief. It’s about seeing the "best version" of someone before they can see it themselves. When we lead with empathy and a commitment to growth, we aren't just managing a team; we are building a legacy.

Next time you’re in a 1-on-1, remember: you aren't just checking a status. You’re holding a mirror. Make sure it reflects their greatness.

How are you helping your team soar today?
