What a fabulous and unforgettable evening at Jimmy’s Tacos in St. Petersburg! 🎬🌮💙
Despite the unexpected challenge of moving our event 25 miles away less than 24 hours before the screening, our community, family, and friends showed up for us. Words cannot express how grateful we are for your love, flexibility, and incredible support.
This event meant so much to Mario and me. Sharing Casting Our Heritage and From Sea to Soul during Latino Conservation Week and Hispanic Heritage Month allowed us to celebrate our culture, our connection to the water, and the important role Hispanics play in protecting and enjoying our natural resources.
It also brought us back to the reason we founded Tampa Bay Kayak Anglers: to help more families, especially those from Hispanic, underserved, and underrepresented communities, feel welcomed, represented, and empowered in the outdoors.
Seeing everyone gathered together reminded us that this work is about so much more than fishing or kayaking. It is about access, belonging, conservation, representation, and building a community where everyone can discover the healing and joy found on the water.
Thank you to Jimmy’s Tacos for opening your doors to us at the last minute, and thank you to everyone who came through and made this evening so special. You turned an unexpected hiccup into a beautiful celebration that we will never forget. 💙
